«Little big passenger»: Preventive campaign at the traffic control post

Pre-New Year preventive campaign aimed at prevention of child injuries in cars was held on the 27th of December at the initiative of the Russian Red Cross and the detached battalion of the road patrol service in UVAO of Moscow at the traffic control post located at the crossing of Volgogradskiy prospect and MKAD.

On this day from 13 until 15 traffic control post no.103 at Volgogradskiy prospect was strengthened by Father Frost, Snow Maiden and the symbol of the New Year – happy Horse. Employees and volunteers of the Russian Red Cross, members of the unit of Young traffic officers and representatives of the Educational department of UVAO were there to help these fairy-tale characters.

During this preventive campaign State Road Traffic Safety Inspection employees stopped cars in which they saw little passengers and which had child restraints. These checks were kind of surprises for drivers and also for young passengers because instead of some serious talks with traffic control officers they received congratulations with the coming New Year from Father Frost and his granddaughter Snow Maiden and also gifts prepared by the project “Little big passenger” and the Russian Red Cross. And, of course, Father Frost informed drivers about the rules on transportation of children in cars and compulsory usage of child safety seats.
