All-Russia Award Ceremony for the winners of the RAMS academic T.B. Dmitrieva "Achievements in the field of mental health"

On December 15th, 2011 yet another, yearly, all-Russia Award Ceremony for the winners of the RAMS academic T.B. Dmitrieva "Achievements in the field of mental health" contest was held at the Danilovskaya Hotel located in the architectural complex of the Svyato-Danilov monastery in Moscow.

The contest has been held by the Public Council for Mental Health under the guidance of the main Russian Ministry of Health external expert in psychiatrics, Professor. Z.I. Kekelidze since 2005 with support of AstraZeneca company.

The contest aims to mark the best special medical organizations in the mental health field. The main prize - big Golden Butterfly – was given to Sverdlovskaya oblas as the Best region, the Regional Psychiatric hospital №1 of Primorsky kray won the small Golden Butterfly as the Best medical organization.

Before the Award Ceremony a Round Table was held for journalists covering health and healthcare issues. The theme of the Round table was “Investment in mental health – investment in the Nation’s future”. The speakers, Z.I. Kekelidze and his colleagues – Prof. V.S. Yastrebov, Chairman of the Public Council and Prof. N.D. Bukreeva, responsible for standards of care in psychiatry, presented interesting, informal, and startling information on the state of modern psychiatry in relation to the theme of the roundtable.
