Russian cardiologists supported by Bayer Schering Pharma to lead a unique project on prevention of cardiovascular diseases

This week, RIA Novosti hosted a press conference for the launch of the ‘Healthy Heart Expedition’ project, which will start on May 15, 2008 at 7.00 pm from the Northern river boat station of Moscow in the cruise along the Volga. The concept of the Expedition was offered by specialists of PR-Premier MMCG. The agency also provided with preparation and realization of the project. Russian Scientific Cardiologists Society (VNOK) and Russian Medical Society for Arterial Hypertension (RMOAG) supported by Bayer Schering Pharma intend to make their contribution to improvement of the current situation of insufficient awareness of the population for the cardiological risks and, as a result, lowering of a high level of mortality caused by cardiovascular diseases in Russia.

Aimed at the realization of assigned tasks, PR-Premier specialists developed a non-standard project of cardiological preventive medical examination – informational and educational expedition ‘Healthy Heart’. Within a month a specially equipped ship will visit 8 Russian cities: Yaroslavl, Samara, Volgograd, Saratov, Tolyatti, Kazan, Cheboksary, and Nizhniy Novgorod for the purpose of increasing of people’s awareness level about risk factors and the necessity of prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

In every city where the ship will make a stop, leading Russian cardiologists, participating in the project, will diagnose and give recommendations to all attendees directly in the ship. Berths will have medical equipment, which allow providing express diagnostics of the cardiological risk factors in the highest level. Educational lectures for population and workshop conferences on cardiology for medical specialists will be also organized under the auspices of the project. Press briefings will be provided for regional media in 5 cities.
