Sunny Day

On November 19 the agency organized for the tenth time an annual Sunny Day holiday for children cured of cancer. Such holidays are initiated by the Blokhin scientific institute for children’s oncology and hematology of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and Vnesheconombank.

Nowadays over 80% of children can be cured of cancer if medical help is provided to them at the initial stage of the disease. Over 4,000 children cured of cancer live in Moscow alone.

Social adaptation of children after a long treatment is no less important. Deputy Director of the oncology institute Polyakov described the Sunny Day holiday as a starting point for children on their way back to a normal life.

The holiday featured a concert, buffet dinner and presents from the sponsor, Vnesheconombank.
