KinoSTART - 2005 project, carried out by the agency for Panasonic and Federal education agency for the second consecutive year, ended with a film festival at the Moscow House of Cinema.
This year six Russian regions were involved in KinoSTART. Teenagers from Perm, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Rostov-on-Don, Voronezh and Lipetsk, who wanted to make own films, were given this chance.
For a year professional directors and cameramen were teaching them the secrets of filmmaking. As a result 30 short films of various genres, documentaries, feature and social films were made.
The jury chaired by Russian famous director Vladimir Grammatikov said that all films were very well done; they raised relevant issues and showed high level of mastery.
150 young participants in the project arrived at the festival to show their works and to watch the films by others. The children were showered with wonderful prizes: 10 video cameras, 8 TV sets, DVD and VHS players and radio recorders by Panasonic that organized and sponsored KinoSTART. Panasonic implements quite a few projects for children and teenagers in accordance with its global strategy Ideas for life.
