“ From Mental Health Day to years of social partnership”

The agency has carried out a press conference “ From Mental Health Day to years of social partnership” for AstraZeneca. The press conference was centered on mental health.

Director of Serbsky National Research Center for Social and Forensic Psychiatry and member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences Tatyana Dmitriyeva emphasized that mental disorders are a key factor behind low life expectancy. She added that 7% of total population in Russian suffers from depressions. Besides, 40% of healthy people have mental disorders that have not developed into serious diseases so far.

Participants in the press conference suggested that special educational programs for patients and their relatives should be created to improve social adaptation of the former.
